Evermetes maewi
20 May Pitmegen - several of the jeeps
seen around camp were thought
to be this species.
21 May Pitmegen - a flock of ca 12 geese
seen feeding along a melt-off
stream on north side of the river
was thought to be made up
mostly of this species.
23 May Pitmegen - three were seen
at close range on high ground
at the north end of the "plot"
transect.
24 May Pitmegen - one caught on the
trapline this morning.
25 May Pitmegen - another caught on
the trapline. No others seen
today.
27 May Pitmegen - three seen in the
same area of the trapline referred
to above. Apparently maewi is
one of an upland merin meadow
level where purilla likes melt
areas or the edges of ponds etc.
