Acanthis hortulanae
8 June cent
lived with sheep hair and cotton tufts.
#3 - 4 eggs (one broken open was
fresh), on ground at base of willow
42" high on steep bank 2 ft high
in stelan bed, lived with ptarmigan
feathers, sheep hair and cotton tufts
#4 - another of same location, 18" hgt
5 eggs (one slightly incubated), lived
with ptarmigan feathers, cavilion
hair and cotton tufts.
11 June Peters-Schroder - in willow zone
on N from little lake NW Peters
into Peters - west, 5 eggs, 18" up
in 2'1/2 ft willow - lived with
ptarmigan feathers and cotton tufts -
1 egg showed well-developed embryo
ca. 15mm - all joints developed.
12 June Peters-Schroder L - following nests found:
#1 - along steep sloping creek, 4 young &
1 egg, nest 18" up in 2 ft willow, lived
with ptarmigan feathers and cotton edge
tufts.
#2 - 4 young, 3 feet up in willow 3'1/2
ft high in Beef Whistle - on stand,
nest lined with ptarmigan feathers and
cotton tufts.
