Acanthus hoeneanii
21 May Pitmegea River - one year old
calling by camp in the early
morning.
22 May Pitmegea - a ? weog year feeding
by a tall grassy weed head a
few yards in front of camp. She
had a very shaggy appearance.
25 May Pitmegea - two females were
seen in a low - ca 12-18" wide
area upriver from camp about
100 yds.
31 May Peters - Schrader - seen in tall
weillows at 3 stations on west
side of Peters across from camp. No
wales seen - no cesploys or winging
obvious. Does not appear to be
breeding yet (?) Approximately 6
individuals seen.
28 May Pitmegea - on the lateral creek
ca 1 mi above camp and at a point
a few hundred yds from the
river in a low growth. Weillows
standing about 18 inches high -
9 flushed from nest of 3 eggs. Net
1 ft off ground - lined with flatwax
but not those of Pturnigar duck?
Peters - Schrader Lakes - a ? & ? seen
in immediate circuit. I shaked wet on
