Heteroscelus incanus
June Peters-Schroeder Lakes
Along Whistler Creek I saw
about six different individuals—some
flying up the valley, others foraging
along the wanning stream. Two of
the latter appeared to be mated and
localized in a given area in the
main stream bed.
June Peters-Schroeder Lake— one collected
about 1/2 above mouth of Carnivore
Creek. Paws new fledglings along
Carnivore for 2 1/2 miles. All birds
seen faltered, including this one
that, I counted 9 birds, all but
one in pairs. The collected bird
was paired. Seen foraging both
in gravel creek bed and around
needlely areas in the meadows. Some
incipient displaying observed. Cello are
very plover-like—loud and carry a
long distance.

in habitat from golden plover.
