T. Code 1957 Calavicus (pictus?) 5 August Jago Lake One flock of 8-9 was seen on a high blvch 1/2 mi' above camp, and 2-3 singles were seen on the lower blvch land. 13 August Jago Lake Half a dozen, very shy, seen on the first blvch above and westward of the lake. They do not look like lappsonicus - although they are in fall plumage, which is confusing to me - and I think they are pictus. Unfortunately just at the time when I could have gotten a specimen, my gun went out of which. I will try to net some of these if they stay in the area. 5 August Jago Lake Quite a few seen at the base of Marie Mountain. 6 August Jago Lake Flocks of longsprays all about today - all in winter plumage. There seems to be two kinds - one buffier on breast than the other. Also one much shier than the other. Both lappsonicus & pictus represented? They seem to be feeding almost entirely on the berries of Arctostaphylos.
