Evernophila aljestrius
21 May Pitmegea River - one was seen
on the ridge back of camp in
the morning. and three were seen
on the high ridge at night.
June Peters-Schroder Lake - two were
seen together on the marshy ground
between the two lakes at the main
camp. One, c. 57, was collected. Later
4 more were seen immediately back
of camp. Two of these fought each
other all over the ground around
camp. Very vigorous fighting with
lovely contacts.
2 June Peters-Schroder Lakes - 2 were seen
in the high passes between the west
wall of Peters Lake Valley and Whistler
Creek and 4 or 5 were seen along
Whistler. One was seen standing on a
rock on an alluvial fan. The pair
in the pens appeared to copulate on a
river bank.
June Peters-Schroder Lakes - about 12
seen on a new walk down "Butts"
W - all on ridges - 3 birds seen
together - 2 with paired horns were
fighting - dull coloured third (?)
who attacked one of the 'males'.
