Cade 1957 asio flammeeus 31 May - Barrow One near to fly out of the car area circle north and flew east out over the fresh water lake. It disappeared flying east over the "site." 12 June, Wainwright One was seen continuously flying about T3ETH - sometimes sitting down on turrets- while I was running the traps in the evening ca 2130-2230. Childs saw one in the range area this morning. 13 June - Seen again in the same area during the morning run of the traplines. 5 August Jago Lake About 1 1/2 mi above the lake I flushed a short-eared owl out of dense lichen brush growing on the edge of the low level. It flew toward the view and landed, but I could not get close enough for a shot. It flew off toward the high level land and was attacked by jaegers.
