31 May - Barrow
One near to fly out of the car area
circle north and flew east out over the
fresh water lake. It disappeared flying
east over the "site."
12 June, Wainwright
One was seen continuously flying about
T3ETH - sometimes sitting down on turrets-
while I was running the traps in the
evening ca 2130-2230. Childs saw one
in the range area this morning.
13 June - Seen again in the same area during the
morning run of the traplines.
5 August Jago Lake
About 1 1/2 mi above the lake I
flushed a short-eared owl out of dense
lichen brush growing on the edge of
the low level. It flew toward the
view and landed, but I could not
get close enough for a shot. It flew
off toward the high level land and
was attacked by jaegers.
