1. Code 1955 Stercorarius parasiticus 18 Aug Cont my eyes peregrine which was tethered in front of the gamesway. A shot scared them off, but already minute later four griegees flew back over heading up stream. They were gamboling with each other in the air and "melowing." 0 August, Jago Lake - at 1020 4 block and two normal phase griegees were seen flying down view on the sight limit over the flood plain. They were "melowing." 2 August, Jago Lake - 4 block individuals flew by camp, melowing and selecting down view at 1420. 7 August Okpilak Lake - several heard "melowing" along the river around 1300. September Meade River. Coulmeir - a pair of normal phase adults was seen perched ride by ride in a ridge-grows marsh about half a mile S of the village. I got within 30 yds left missed an aiming shot. September Meade R - at Coalmin - two normal phase adults seen flying ca 1 1/2 mi NW of village. September Meade River Coulmeir - one normal phase adult seen flying over tundra at 1600.
