Pitt Point

Idimantopus micropalinata
A sandpiper, almost certainly this
species, was seen around a mudflat
pond near the river east of the
site. In company of semipalmated
sandpipers. It was in winter plumage-
had very conspicuous "three-joints"
and in flight the entire tail was
apparently whitish with some grey
effects - as in case of yellow legs. Legs
were a yellowish-green. Size near
that of pectoral but a more slender
looking species.
