Cacle 1957 Erolia alpina 31 May One seen flying over the car area ca 1/2 mile south of ARL. Black belly clearly seen. 1 June Seen commonly all along the way on the beach ridge west of the village in flocks of 6-8 and in pairs. About 50 seen in all. Wing flashing seen frequently and some territorial chases. 5 June - Seen commonly out of Barrow for about 10-15 miles; then began to be replaced gradually by Pectoral. Commonest sandpiper near Barrow. 11 June One pair seen near the townlets at Wainwright. 5-16 July Point Loo Not common at this locality - saw only 3-4 individuals. 7-30 July Pitt Point Not seen very commonly on the tundra, as at Barrow, but quite a few in flocks with other sandpipers along the river.
