Code 1958 Evolia melanotos 30 June Coal Mine, Meade River Two or three females seen in distraction display today on walk down river from the village. July At least half a dozen females were seen in distraction display today in areas near T12 and T34. Young must be hatching out all over the place. July Barrow - more seen in 3 hour drive around areas where previously common. Barrow to S. Bow 3 - total of 12 seen (see general account). 7 July Uniat, Alaska - seen commonly in all areas of the river valley, as usual. July Uniat - a downy young was seen with an adult on alligator wood. I caught the young by hand. It had full body size, was well-feathered on the back, the primaries were about 30-40 mm long but the tail coos out only 5mm. Another coo caught on T5. It coos somewhat older with primaries about 50-60mm and tail out mm. 12 July Uniat - this is the commonest shorebird around Uniat this year. 13 July Uniat - a pair with two downy coos was
