July 10 Hot Creek Range, 8 mi Wl Tybo, 6700 ft,
Nye Co., Nev.
Shot two females. One taken in a
pinion coming down trunk at a spot
about 200 feet above sheepherders cabin.
The other was taken as it climbed up
on a small juniper on S side of canyon,
nearer camp (4/5 of a mi) Formation -
Knolls spotted with large rocks. Calling to
another specimen when I saw her.
July 11. Walking up canyon about 5 15 am..
Saw Eutamias dorsalis on rocky ledge.
Had always understood that Eutamias did
not appear until after sun shone on burrow
or rock ledge. There was one up and out
certainly before the sun reached him. Taken
on north side of canyon about 3/10 of a mile
above camp. First male taken.
