Lilleland 1933. Itinerary. 13 July 3. Spent the morning in putting up a Nocifraga columbiana collected by Wl. Russell, a Turdus migratorio (Robin) shot in camp by Russell and the 3 birds secured July 2. up on the side of Mt. Togaima. These were Junco annectens ?, Dendroica auduboni and Parus gambeli. Worth noting perhaps that one Dendroica was taken at 8000 ft., and the other at 9,500 considerably above the point where W. Russell shot his deer. July 4. Slept a bit later celebrating the holiday. Put up two Eutamias m. pictus in the morning. In the afternoon I walked up along Grassy Creek Road. Saw several humming birds: Two in hot pursuit, diving from tree tops with bullet like speeds. Saw a hawk up on top of a pinion high upon a cliff. Its note was a two toned plaintive cry - could not make out colors well but when it flew, lower sides of wings were whitish.
