Nene Goose - 2 s.r. - 1 Kilauea crater (30Aug)
Black (White-capped) Noddy Tern - 100+ off coast
nr. Keana Pt. (Volcanos Natl. Pk.)
Gray Frigatebird - 1 (Pearl Line Rd.) (31 Aug)
Hawaiian Hawk (Io) - 1 seen by others - partly near
Kaumana Cave
Spotted (Chinese) Dove - com. in Hilo & at lower elevations
elevations in 1st
Zebra (Barred) Dove - com., in Hilo & at low elevations
Common (Indian) Myna - heard, in Hilo & at low
elevations, elevations.
N. Mockingbird - seen. Probably seen in Hilo
Defense White-eye - 2+ nr. Thurston Lava Tube (Natl. Pk.), + 1
Pt., + 2 nr. Thurston Lava tube (Natl. Pk.), + 1
Louise also saw 1 in H:10.
heard in Kapuka 21, 1st first location also near
1 individual that foraged like a creeper (mimetic), was
dark blue green color, bill markedly long & almost straight +
had a whitish wash under its eye. L. Fried thought it
might be a young White-eye rather than a creeper.
Elepaio - around seen near Dr Thurston Lava Tube,
3 at Kapuka 21 + 3 at lower line Kapuka.
Iiwi - 2 at Kapuka 21 + 2 at p.-e. kapuka.
Akiapaua - 1 " + 3 "
Com. Amahiki - 3+ " + 5+ " (in shade or low area)
Omao - 5 " + 4 " (mostly heard but few seen)
Hawaiian Sparrow - com. in H:10 & vicinity areas
