Red hauled 5 [illegible] - 2 seen/whend very day (22 years total) Vanx's Swist - 1 seen on 26 june, 3 - 29 km, + heard at other times [illegible], D'k-aged Jones - saw, Song Sparrow - cor. Two visited songs: 1) warbler Lark 500 500 500- 3:1 heard 2x 2) [illegible] whistling sweet, sweet, sweet, etc. Hawaiian trip 28 july - 7 August july 28 - Left SF. + flew to H:i:0 v.i.a Honolulu. While in airport at [illegible] Honolulu saw 1 & Red-vented Bulbul, [illegible], + House Sparrow. Arr. H:i:0 ~ 2:30 p.m. Checked into H:i:0 Hotel. Attended joint meeting of Soc. Study Evolution, Soc. Syst. Biology, at Amv. Soc. q Naturalists held at the University ~ 16:1-0 july 29 - meetings all day + evening july 30 - free day so we rented a car & drove S to the Hawaii Volcanoes Natl. Pk. First in drove S & took Hwy 130 to Pahoa + then 132 to the coast staying at Lava Tree State Mon. While we found - heavy rain. It rained off on all day. Went S along coast on Hwy 137 to finish just past w/ 130 when road to the east by newly flowing lava (5-6 weeks ago). Spend some time walking on this new lava fronting day coast until we could see steam jets coming out of the lava a short distance ahead. Ont on the lave we saw 2 kinds of spiders at least 500m from the lava edge. One was was a very small web spider in a love crad + the other was
