LIDICKER 1984 Australian & New Zealand trip 1 - 30 July July 1 - Left SF on Qantas 2100, will stop in Honolulu. July 3 - Arrived Sydney 06:25. Mike Anger & others met by Local Comm. net so + delivered us to Esron Motel in Randwick. Coldest weather for this date since 1896. Walked to Coogee Sands Beach + had lunch at fish and chips place (excellent). On afternoon I visited Anger at the Univ. of New South Wales for conference business. On evening went to Thai Restaurant at "The Spot". July 4-8 Field trip to Myall Lakes (Smith Lake Research Sta.) led by Barry Fox & the Univ. of NSW. Went N on Highwy 1 through Horsley, W. of Gaspard station (Pokolbin) at the Cazneau + the Hunter Valley Vineyards. We had lunch at Hungerford Hills Winery. Then in wind on to Kurri Kurri: a field station via Buladelah. Rain all day. On 5th - rain most of day. Toured S & W through Myall Lakes Natl. Park. Lunch at Mungo Brush. Then took Bomber Pt ferry + back to Buladelah + Station. On evening we spent 1 night with Barry for 24th, 6th, 7th & 8th clear weather. 6th N to Forster + Tuncurry + then to Barrington Natl. Park via Glenreavers. Lunch at Jickies are half way up into Continental up into snow (small inches) + to snow gum forest. Returned to Station after dark via Stroud + Buladelah. 7th - Went to Sugar Creek together with Wallingat Forest (to Chinaman's Lookout) in morning. Caught a large Diamond Python at the lookout. On
