Arr. 17:00 to have dinner with Jenny & Laura + stay overnight. May 29 - Lv. Sacramento 8:30, took Garden Highway along river N to Hwy 99 + then to Yuba City when we had lunch 11:45. Took Washington Blvd to Boyes Rd to Schley + to Sutton W. Ilkips Refuge. After passing through refuge to W fork Progress Rd. N. to Leaver Rd. + Franklin Rd to Tartan Rd. + then to Calif. 20 to Colusa + the Colusa Wildlife Refuge. Drove around four miles in Refuge + took Calif. 20 N to Colusa + Hwy 45 N. to Maxwell Rd. to 4-mi. Rd. along W. side of Delevan Refuge. Could not find any entrance to Refuge except along N border + followed Rds to NE corner of Refuge. Returned to 4-mi. Rd. + took Delevan Rd. to I-5. S. on I-5 to Calif. 20 + went W to Clear Lake. Got motel (20-08h.m.) on S. side of Glenhaven. Got dinner in Lucerne (20:30 - 21:30). Mammoth area!
