Meadowlark - saw Wedge B:t:d - 10 + Yel. ranged Warbler - 2 with 2+ stips (d.t.) along flanks - formerly Townsend's Meadow Lark - 1+ Starling - + red. warbler (yellow throat) Dec. 27 Sacramento to Gray Lodge & Sacramento w/Willie Refuges lv. ~ 10:40, arr. Gray Lodge ~ 11:45, sunset at 16:45 along S. side of Sac. Refuges, operated in did the 7 mi. loop west of the refuges leaving then at 18:00, drove back to Sacramento. Weather: cold partly cloudy Pink M. Grebe - 20 + Gt. B.E. Heron - 12+ Snoring Egret - 2 Arnr. B:t:Heron - 3 W2: stl.ing Swan - 70+ (Sac.Ref.) Cackling Guran - 2 (in flock of swan geese; sun will set very radically) White-faced Guan - 1000+ Ross's Guan - 7 (1 flock with ravous short call) Mallard - 100+ Gothell - 85+ Cinnamon Teal - 4 Beldings - 600+ Shoveller - 600+ Ruddy Duck - 15+ Blk-sh. K:dks - 12+ Marsh Hawk - 25+ Ring-neck. Phasant - 30 + Dkt. w. Cawmot - 3 Great Egret - 25+ Bix. cr. Night Heron - 1 2x trail steps & what might have been Least B:t:Heron Canada Goose - 20+ Snow Goose - 3000+ Green-winged Teal - 35+ Blue-winged Teal - 2 Pinto:1-40+ Ring-neck. Duck - 20+ Bufflehead - 10+ Turkey Vulture - 15+ Red-tailed Hawk - 55+ Kestrel - 40 + Sora - 1 (beautiful long bird, even w/talons out can not get 9 tails to feed on dry figs)
