LIDICKEN 1990 Brown's Blackbird - 100+ Black-throated Sparrow - 1 Aug. 21 Down ~ 528 mi. on Aug. 20. Lakeview to Alturas, Calif.; Stopped briefly at Crows Lake St. Pk. on the Oregon side of the border. (06:45 - 8:00), resident hawk, large - 1 Canada Goose - 60+ Mallard - 10+ Cinnamon Teal - 200+ Canada - 100+ Clark's Goldfinch - 3+ (Thousands of ducks & geese on Lake). K:11 deer - 5+ Spotted Sandpiper - 2+ Calif. Quail - 15 Brown's Blackbird - 100+ Violin-gr. Swallow - 100+ Barn Swallow - 50+ Rough-winged Swallow - 2+ Redpoll - 30+ W. Meadowlark - 2+ M. Dove - 2+ Belted Kingfisher - 1 Caspian Tern - 2 gulls - 100's, few identified to Calif. Skulls, Stopped in Alturas for gas & breakfast. Took Hwy. 299 to Reeding, Alturas to Country (09:22): Golden Eagle - 1 T.Vulture - 1, Storking - 2; made deer + Country to Adin (9:45) - T.Vulture, Marsh Hawk - 1, Storking. Adin to Hot Creek St. Pk.; Sandhill Crane - 2, Red-tailed Hawk - 7+, T.Vulture +, Golden Eagle - 1 at (W. MacArthur). Stopped for walk in Hot Creek St. Pk. (10:45 - 11:40). Saw: B. Kingfisher - 1, resident vireo - 1 (heard only; most likely Red-eyed, but song was intermittent). Black-throated Gray Warbler - 2 Calif. Woodpecker - 8+ Sanderling - 1 Fox Sparrow - 1 (cont.)
