Blue Heron - 1 resident hummingbird - 1 Horned Grell - 2 California Gull - 5 Coot - 2 Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 Mourning Dove - 10+ E. King bird - 2+ Buffalo Bill Lake - Mayfair - 3. Drove into Yellowstone, over Sylvan Pass, stopped briefly at Sylvan Lake a second place along N. shore of Yellowstone Lake. Hotel lunch at Lake Lodge. Checked out Old Firebaugh in the rain & cold, & exited the Park at West Yellowstone, Montana. Stayed for snacks before continuing SW on U.S. 20. Saw: Yellowstone Nat. PK. Yel. badger - 2, Pika - 1+ (Sylvan Pass) Red Squirrel - 5 chipmunks - 5+ Bison - 20+ lots of geese. Trumpeter Swan - 1 juv. ad. + 2 ad. * Barrow's Golden-eye - 75+ (N.E. Yellowstone Lake) - all in 1 large flock; 1/3 & 2/3 all in different excellent views.
