LIDICKER 1990 Aug. 19 cont. Red-wing - 40+ Pintail - 10+ Baldhead - 6+ Golden-eye - 2 Redhead - 30+ Ruddy Duck and lots of loons - 40+ Cinnamon Teal - 10+ Blue-w. Teal - +? Shoveller - 5+ Mallard - 60+ Clark's Grebe (incl. some eyg.) - 30+ Eared Grebe (incl. some egg.) - 20+ watched a duck finding a frog. Killdeer - 1 Wilson's Phalarope - 5 Barn Swallow - 100+ G.t. Blue Heron - 1 resident hummingbird - 1 Horned Grell - 2 California Gull - 5 Coot - 2 Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 Mourning Dove - 10+ E. King bird - 2+ Buffalo Bill Lake - Mayfair - 3. Drove into Yellowstone, over Sylvan Pass, stopped briefly at Sylvan Lake a second place along N. shore of Yellowstone Lake. Hotel lunch at Lake Lodge. Checked out Old Firebaugh in the rain & cold, & exited the Park at West Yellowstone, Montana. Stayed for snacks before continuing SW on U.S. 20. Saw: Yellowstone Nat. PK. Yel. badger - 2, Pika - 1+ (Sylvan Pass) Red Squirrel - 5 chipmunks - 5+ Bison - 20+ lots of geese. Trumpeter Swan - 1 juv. ad. + 2 ad. * Barrow's Golden-eye - 75+ (N.E. Yellowstone Lake) - all in 1 large flock; 1/3 & 2/3 all in different excellent views.
