LIDICKER 1990 June 6 cont. Near Q Lake about 11:00. Soon it was pouring down rain, & even though we sheltered under thick trees, we soon got soaked. So we returned to the T-haven (~12:40) & went home for lunch. Everything was dry N of the town centre. Birds seen: Gt. cr. Gull - 1 dr. (I seemed to have egg on its back) Canada Goose - 120+ Mallard - 20+ I saw bunch of egg Grayling Swan - 100+ Eur. Teal - 10 (all J.D.) Tawny Duck - 20+ (including 1 laying egg, the offspring a & 3 when they ad. flew off; the adult walked over the water after it) Corn. Gull - 2 Bkt. Ld. Gull - 100+ Rock Dove - 1 h Wood Pigeon - 2 White Wagtail - 3 Starling - 15+ Magpie - 5+ Red Wattle - 1 We also heard several songs & saw some diving Sedge Warblers. Blackbird - 10+ Fieldfare - 15+ Great Tit - 5+ House Sparrow - 5+ Chaffinch - 2+ Green Finch - 3 Reed Bunting - 3 ad. + 1 fledged egg. n=21 June 7 - Saw first signs of green in Norway on the University campus in Blindern. Sognsvannet, Oslo June 8 20:23-21:53. Walked to lake from Kringsj & went up W side a short way before heading back. Cool & partly cloudy. Birds seen: Canada Goose - 2 (1 may be nest visited)
