Gave seminar 13:15-14:30. Chatted with the head of the Dept. of Zool. Moritzel - Prof. Dr. Lutz. Th. Wasserthal; he is ornithologist interested in Leg-losties or tracked / blood system junctions. Visited him in Dept. for most of day. Brother & Udo's students is Martina Tusche - does working on Bettongia but just starting - on relationships among % in the colony. June 2 Udo met me at 07:00 & until 08:50 took tour of a small natural area ~10 km NNE of Deichsendorf, near villages of Neukaus, Adelsdorf, Buck, Poppenwind & Mörkelz. Weather warm & partly cloudy. Saw a roe deer & 2 Lagurs europaeus. Birds seen: Great crested Grebe - 8 + Gray Heron - 5 + Mallard - 10 + Tufted Duck - 85 + Buzzard - 1 Phreant - 1 Lapwing - 30 + Curlew, 2 (Numenius arquata) in field near (or same) tht seems to be - lake surroundings). Mute Swan - 5 + group of 23 ggm eggs nest. * Purple Heron - 1 Gadwell - 2 pr. Poached - 25 + Marsh Harrier - 1 Geet - 50 + * Little Ringed Plover - 1
