LIDICKER 1990 May 29 cont. + spent some hours visiting in N. Rgt: Franci's Sauvy, Peter Vogel, Michel Genoud, Roger Artidi, resp. ectoparasites) Heinz Richner (corvids), plus a number of students. Went to Sauvy's apartment for dinner & staying over night. Birds: Marco, us & Sauvy's, the dinner group included Peter Vogel (shrikes - nightjars, torquay, etc.) M. Genoud (method involved to physical of shrikes), Roger Artidi (warblers, land-bury, faraging). Vogel has 5 daughters! Richner had shown us the nest hole of Dendrocopos major in - ly. living 7 eggs on 1 km. away ground, but app. had apparently fledged & we did not see any. May 30 Got train to Lausanne at 10:35 for Zurich. Route via Fribourg & Bern. Birds: Collared Turtle Dove, Common Cross, Buzzards - 3. Zurich, arr. 12:57; Lv. 13:13 on train to Stuttgart. Had lunch on train. Stuttgart: arr. 16:35; Lv. 17:35; (via Schwäbisch, Aalen, Ansbach) on train for Nürnberg. Arr. about 20:00 & home met by Udo Ganslosser. He drove us to our hotel, a gästehof (Rangau) in a village of Deckendorf NW of Erlangen. Black Redstart - 1 pv. May 31 ~08:45-10:20 walked to small lake (Oberer Bischofswäher) which is some kind of a marsh. Udo told us that there was a colony of Black-necked Gulls nesting there. At 10:30 Udo arrived to pick us up & also Ursula Fenzlein who is a master student of Udo's working on Kowari's. We drove to the Fenzlein apartment in Nürnberg & Ursula's husband Paul
