LIDCSEN 1990 May 19 cont. Wood Pigeon - 2 Collared Turtle Dove - 1 Koran Maviken - 5 + w2: In Wjsta: 1- 20+ Starling - 20+ (many feeding up) Cor. Magpie - 10+ Harled Crow - [illegible] 15+ Pied Flycatcher - 18+ 2 ? (Ears no white bands in wings) Eur. Robin - 4+ Blind Gnat - 4 + Red Wary - 10+ Fieldfare - 30+ Marsh Tit - 1 (hard by) Blue Tit - 3+ Great Tit - 10+ Tree Sparrow - 1 Chiffchaff - 40+ Green finch - 20+ Yellowhammer - 1 n = 28 Østansj & Vannet, Oslo - May 20 After work went to the Lake (17:45-20:45). Got home ~ 21:30. Walked around N end of long W side, (Bølar) to the west S. and e to T-bane. Weather: sunny w/ light clouds, mild, wind & quite cool (hands in jacket wrists). At N. end of Lake saw first bird watcher sight in Norway. He said the N. end of Lake & E. side were famous in Norway for birds. He also told us then were heron birds on E. Nor side of Oslo Fjord - still Nightingale occurs. In the reeds he pointed out the song of the Siv Sanger (Sedge Warbler) which he said outnumbered the Reed Warbler 4:1. Although we heard it we were not able to see one. Birds seen: Gr. Crested Grebe - 8+ Canada Goose - 100+ plus several Geese (1-12 very old) ranging in size from 1 to 17. Greyling Goose - 150+, no eggs seen. Also 3 full-grown geese seen that were together & seemed to pairily fly hybrids between the mottling 2 geese. They had varying amounts of white on the head & a
