Other species noted in the sand ridge front along whose lips face is include: Prunus angustifolium - Chickasaw plum Rhus copallina typhigenia - staghorn sumac Liquidambar +swip sweet gum, corky outgrowths on robust sycamore Acer rubrum - red maple Prunus serotina (esp. shore drift piece) Ilex opaca Lonicera japonica Panicum - record of? Vaccinium arbortum - blooming The North Sector has loblolly pine invading the Panicum (Pinus taeda) as do the other 2 sectors (S & W), in this sector there is more Eriocanthus, & a Polygonum was noted in the Panicum. The trend of Andropogon virginicus as an opponent to water is well developed. Along the dower line dike, Rubus I canum Induratus! But also near Salix sp., Acer rubrum, & a few individuals of Magnolia virginiana (sweet bay). Ferns are more prevalent along the sides of the dike where open water is more demanded. On top of the dike there is a large variety of weeds growing in patches. On the far end of the dike we found Corydalis (Fumariaceae) - w/ yellow snap dragon-like flowers, & the South sector we found Eriocanthus to be less common, & also noted Eupatorium, Acer, & Liquidambar.
