Mar. 2 am.
27 Feb. Jerry led check line, no-tried traps or just fire ant jason made a round each trap. He also no-tried but did not cast our 2' corn traps. There were no ants in the traps when we got them, but as it was overcast we could not be sure it was entirely due to the jason. Re-set corn traps on date to vic. C-10.
March 3
Checkd traps 08:30 - 10:15. Overcast, mild.
A few traps did have ants this time. Caught a white & brocagon on the trap near N-11, moved this trap to vic. O-9.

)
March 4
Checked traps 08:30 - 9:30 Partly cloudy. Quite a few traps continue to be disturbed by racoons & some had signs of birds being taken from the traps. Caught a jason on the 'corn trap nr. O-9. She had 2+ dead young. Trap went without bait.
March 5
Checked traps 09:00 - 10:00 Partly cloudy. Locked traps open & no-tried them with brod gun. Picked up th 2 racoon traps. Caught 2 Micrurus pinetorum, both had 2 traps (WTL #'s 4062, 4063). The 2 was surprisingly inactive but I think was surprised. The Serm. Visicles were 7 min./long, flattened & translucent (clear). Several birds (Song Sparrows) + 1 P. grumgrinus were killed in traps, presumably by racoon. Trap M-13 was moved close to N-13 knowing high water.
