Grackle - 50 + n = 35 Jan 9 8:30 am to Epcot Center. Leave well after dark to continue N, through Orlando to Altamonte Springs (Days Inn). Birds seen: Fish Crows - 10 + BT, AT. Grackle - 25 + ♀♀'s Com. Grackle - 8 + ♀♀'; Jan. 10 Altamonte Sfy. to Orange City, + to Blue Springs State Park (09:30 to 15:00), including 3 hrs. + 26 min. canoe trip. Hwy 17 to Jacksonville (dusk), I295 byway to US 1 + on to Folkston, Ga. Saw 6-8 manatees at Blue Sfy., sawed alligators & lots of long-nosed gar, a huge school of mullet, & lots of other fish. Also 1 otter, swimming in mudia. Birds: D. cv. Cormorant - 1 (Green Cove Sfy.) Anhinga - 25 + Great Egret - 30 + Louisiana Heron - 2 White Ibis - 250 + Black Vulture - 2 Red-tailed Hawk - 1 (between Altamonte Spgs & Orange City) Osprey - 8 + Purple Gallinule - 4 (got within 2-3 ft. of them) St. Blue Heron - 20 + Cattle Egret - 25 + Little Blue Heron - 12 + Turkey Vulture - 50 + Red-shanked Hawk - 4 + Kestrel - 5 (red-sided)
