LIDICKEN 1988 Costa Rica 28 Jan to 8 Feb 28 Jan - travel to San Jose, via Miami, arriving late in evening. (record Hotel Europa) 29 Jan - 31 Jan - SSC meetings Hotel Herralera 1 Feb - 8 Feb - IUCN General Assembly, Hotel Caviari 3 Feb - 5 Feb took trip to La Salva Biological Site near Puerto Viejo. Took OTS car from Office in San Jose arriving before lunch & returning to San Jose after lunch on 5th. Lots of heavy rains on 3rd & 4th often torridal; clear on 5th. 2 pm - 4 pm took boat trip with me down Rio Puerto Viejo. La Salva personalidades: Jose Arturo Leon - OTS office in S.J. (506) 366 696 Ronald Saurag - Subdirector - on job org & mo.; spent 25 yrs. in US, including being in the Navy. Derek & David Clark - Directors Bob Marguis - plant ecologist (Piper) Richard Knadton - tour leader from Toronto; formerly Univ. Saskatchewan Vaughan Fleagle - (monkeys, squirrels) - on Knadton tour Bill Newell - PhD from Stanford w/ Mary - light guts. Alan Pound - Univ. Fla. grad student; friend ? Pat Forster - Twiny ; mostly works at Montverde. Ken M[illegible] ory - New England Aquarium (Boston) writer & frog photographer. - Cornell grad student working on
