Livermore - Carrol Hollow trip May 6 15:20-22:30 (relatively cold & windy) Zool. 107 field trip. Each car is to list as many species of vertebrates as possible. The list for my group follows. We went several miles down Mines Rd. south of Livermore upon returning to Carrol Hollow. Mammals: (n=16) Sciurus niger Spermophilus beecheyi: horses, cows, donkeys, pigs, dogs, cats, sheep, + goats Thomops bottae Procyon lotor Didelphis virginiana (from owl pellets) Microtus californicus Sylvilagus auduboni: Canis latrans (crossing rd. at night) Fish: unident. (crabs along Mines Rd.) Arthropods: (n=4) Schizonycha occidentalis
