LIDICKER 1975 July 6 cont. Microtars just to the E. of lunch spot there is also a spring with a small amount of M. sign. Then we checked Millsap Spring and that at Space Grove, both of which had small crit. of M. signs. At Space Grove there is actually a spring with a running water rate so one could fill water containers. Finally we checked a spring on the W. side of Bald Mtn. Here the grass is badly over-grazed and we found only 1 M. running. From both signs we came at all these locations. Took 2 photos of Millsap Sp., 1 @ Space Grove & 1 at Bald Mtn. Left out a spring on NE side of Monkey Rock which also had some Microtars sign. Returned to lunch spot ½ mi. S of Monkey Rock where we set up camp (~6400 ft.). Few mosquitoes & almost no flies bothered us this time during the eight. We set up a small tent for the dogs. July 7 Woke up to chipmunks alarm calls from a tree in our camp. Steve & I hunted for a few hours. I saw 5' chipmunks (large species) but could not get a shot at any. After breakfast Steve managed to get 1 F. Then we headed back down the mountain. Just W. of road just E. of College Pass we investigated a small cattle trail found N. to the S. side of the road & guarded by a short dirt wall. Found a few cuttings & possible red man camp; took 1 photo. Then we
