hot ended Drifts on the side of the road up to 5 or
6 ft. high. At just w/ Caly. 96 we stopped in a
rest area + had lunch. Strong wind + very cold.
Headed off highway 96 toward Happy Camp, looking for
Micross butters. At the village of Kramer River,
14.6 mi. from jet of got 99 will 96 we stopped to set
some traps in a weaky meadow with blackberry along the edge
of the river (across from a tavern). Set following drifts:
DK - [illegible] = 6 Log.
WZL - [illegible] = 9 Log.
SY - [illegible] = 41 Logs+ 9 = 16 total.
Only very little sign here + we had to really look for
good places for setting. Then we went on 0.6 mils +
stopped again (.6 mi. W Kramer River). Here we set
a total of 19 traps: DK - 4 Log. + 2 SL (small) = 6
WZL - 7 L. + 2 SL (small) = 9
SY - 2 L. + 2 small SL = 4 total=19
Then we continued heading W on 96. Most grassy areas
were either around houses or heavily grazed, we could not
find additional trapping areas, except for a large meadow
1.8 mi. further on by Sportsmen's Motel which might
have been good but we didn't stop because it was too public.
We hopefully got into snow + it got deeper + deeper. Eventually
we turned back about 7.5 mi. beyond Hanbury. On
our plan we stopped a day in the snow looking for camping
but found only sand. Returned to Nats. Fast Camp (Sarah Totten) 1/4 mi. E of Hanbury. Here we
