Segehon Creek 57.24 Sta - Mamalooops class field trip
Oct. 16 - Left about 10:10. Arrived about 1430. Set
5 Townsend traps for Neotoma cinerea in "rockpile"
(clong creek & 95 Sta.) - baited with 1 brown & peanut butter mix.
Also catch 4 sugar ants = 2 locations. In evening
had to repair holes by Sarah Martin on her round on
invertons at Basin. Checked traps. Caught 2 Neotoma
one I which escaped by squeezing through gap along side
trap door.
Oct.17 - Up at 0700. No additional Neotoma although
all traps had bait taken. Caught 2 adults & sugar

second set. One child kind and was jumbled up or out.

Sarah Martin (hzc # 3867). At 1400 all but 2 of
the group left for Silver Valley and digging in the desert N of
Chilcoat (Blumes Co.). I went out a line of 19 kg.
Shrew traps - bait dry oats with a little peanut butter & 1
cat trap.
Two cars with about 1/2 the group left ~ 1500 and returned to
Segehon. The rest stayed to camp in the desert (actually
a small forested area on the slopes of the buttes). I also
set 4 Townsend live traps for Neotoma latida amid
rock outcrops & on the slope to the N of the valley. There
was wild rye only. Some fresh growth rye and the group's
campsite (cafes), as well a drive. Got back to site.
