Rufus-zick Torker - 2+ Brown Towhee - 1 Oregon Junco - 25+ Total = 54 species White-crowned Sparrow - 50+ Golden-winged Sparrow - 40+ Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 (Bullator) N. California Micores Expedition 22 March - 26 March 1975 March 22 with Suh Y. Yang & David T. Krohne After picking up Suh at Lis home, stopping by the museum to visit & then picking up Davis, we finally left Berkeley about 6:00. It was mostly overcast so rain hot occasionally the sun would come out and we took Highway 101 North. In Chavelle, we stopped for a quick cup of coffee. Just before crossing into Mendocino Co., we could see snow on the Ligier Hills. Just N of Chavelle just after crossing over the Russian River, we saw a fox squirrel DO R. S. H. Leytonville we stopped for lunch at a private rest area. Snow was below the road 4 feet. Slush before Leggett traffic stopped as there was a slide blocking the road 4 miles ahead & traffic was backed up. The flyman said a crew had been working on it for 3 hrs already & he did not know when it would be cleared. So we took an exit to Leggett & then looked for the coast on Cal 1 (also 208). At the Ligier elevations on this road it was hailing & snow Saw [illegible] migrating hummingbirds. partly covered the road. At 7 mi. from Leggett & rd we came to a group of buildings called "Rockport Retreat". Across the road was some flooded spruce area, a
