LIDICKEN 1981 Sept. 28 cat. Off to Warsaw Univ., arriving at 1505. My Seminar - on Reconstruction ecology of the California Vole, was scheduled for 1500 but others were late also so the began ~ 15:15. I was introduced by Dr. T. G:\|l. Discussion went to about 16:30. G:\|l gave me some documents to deliver to Dr. Warren Evans of UC Davis. It was well after 1700 by the time we got away. This seminar was arranged by Anna Dolrowolska. Krystyna then dropped me off at the Hotel. I bought a few items at the Cepelice shop near the Hotel. Had dinner in the Hotel (this time it was 35 + 40 tip). Back to my room to begin getting organized for tomorrow's departure. At dinner waiter offered to sell me a 'souvenir' of Poland. It turned out to be a 200g. can of black caviar for $ 30. Needless to say I declined his offer. Sept 29 Took taxi to airport leaving Hotel at 11:45. After checking [illegible] luggage and cup of coffee with Krystyna. Airport officials objected to my taking the liquid N2 tank in the cabin, but no room standing to check it into baggage so in the end I took it on the plane with me. Plane (SAS) left on schedule at 13:05. Arrived Copenhagen ~ 1420 (nice breeze on flight). Met couple from Bay Area on plane : Meyer Galler (CSUH Library, Hayward, CA.) & Ruth Sibley (McGiffitt Library, UCB). They had been traveling in Russia & for a few days - Poland. Galler
