LIDICKON 1981 Sept. 14 cont. For most 2/3rds, Then at 1915 Corchyński joined me up at the hotel and took me to his flat for a very nice dinner - evening of discussions with him and his wife Krystyna. Their son Peter is on a several month Little-Liking trip with his girlfriend around Western Europe. Their daughter Margareta was home at 15½. Sept. 15 Had breakfast - hosted with 2 Americans she & her husband - their two guides from Katowice. The 2nd one is chemist from Univ. of Iowa, Iowa City 52242: Dr. Clyde W. Frank (Dept. of Chemistry). Watched him at 1000 as we went to the University to have some of my luggage then & to pick up trunks etc. We finally left for the Tatra Mtns - Wschod's Lake [Pol...], car at dark 11:00. Overcast with some rain all the way. Arriving in Zakopane about 13:00, went to Nark Park Headquarters for permission to enter the park, & then had lunch in a private restaurant - excellent service. Rain continuing. Drove up to Chochotowska where there is a chalet or hostel. The last 7 km is for walking only, but we drove in because we had all the trunks to carry. Just before the hostel is a shepherd's hut occupied by 2 old couples. They let me use 3 trips in their house & 1 in an adjacent den with a big loft & pig below. The mountain path was from the village of Witów. Back at the hostel we arranged to get trunks in the kitchen, laundry, various shower rooms,
