LIDICKER 1981 Sat. 8 cont. morning. Talked with Krystyna I. Zalaska-Frelijam who works on lemmings & caribou/reindeer. Then Anna & I took bus to Marszałkowska St. where we had lunch. He talked about a possible joint-disc. grant proposal for her in Berkeley. Then I walked back to Hotel Forum arriving just after 1600. In evening I went to Andryjewski's when Krystyna helped me to translate some of the Dyskusja from Komicki's paper on "Superorganization". After a late supper with them (Roman talked about that book on population biology which he is co-editing with K. Falcuska of Biatorwigiza), I got back to Hotel about midnight. Since the Russian had stopped running by then K.t.R. gave me a ride home in their Polska Fiat. Roman feels that i.e. Russia Navumov and his more holistic views are gaining ascendancy over the more reductionist attitudes of Svartz and Poljakov. He stood on an ecology book by Shilov (1978 I think) which he said was excellent & should be translated into English. He also complained that Sam Berry's new book on The Biology of the Horse Mouse hereabouts is cited little in non-English literature.
