Sept 5 cont.
Putch the tour on a trip into
Biatowieja forest. We saw magnificent oaks - up to
3 + km you and that have been individually cared for
various kings or queens who hunted in the Forest. We
also walked for 2 km. on a range "cat walk" into a
forest just outside the national park. Along this
route, there are various species so labeled with comments
in Polish known simply anything else pertaining I know
it is not in forest community. Then we walked the
2 km. back. By the time we checked out of the hotel
it said "do widzenia" to Puchek it was 1400. By the
time we left behind - Biatowieja it was 1500. Saw a
White Stork on drive back to Warszawa ; arrived about
1930. Checked back into Hotel Forum and went to bed
almost immediately.
Sept. 6 - Slept almost 12 hrs. At 10:00 am
Pionowski met me with his daughter and we went to
visit Wilanow Palace & gardens. We spent 1 3/4 hrs.
in the palace & also at least 1 hr. in the gardens. Saw
a European Nuttall - in the garden & common sign of
Talpa europaea. Along a side branch of the Wisla R.
saw : Gt. Crested Grebe - 1 pr. (Podiceps cristatus)
Shoveller - 17
Black headed Gull - 10+ (Larus ridicularis)
Had good lunch in restaurant near the palace - run by Hotel
Forum. Drove to Hotel to pick up my boots and
