including several i natural area. One of the latter had
the creamium opened up, finding it rather microcosm. It
was obvious that a fairly high density of M. was
present before the dam.
A careful search has also made for White-tailed
Deer. A flock of about 30 birds was observed on
the S. bank. Most were young of the year, but I did
hear one song (twice): --- TTTT.... On the
N. end then was an odd-sized flock of ~20 birds.
According to Cagswell, most of them were gambelli,
but at least some were nuttalli. Again I heard one
song: --- TTT..... Whether or not the two Brooks
Deer's kickouts survival will have to wait for the
spring breeding season.

One Black-tailed Deer was seen on the N end
+ bank water hill; droppings were also seen on the hill.
No Rattler sign was noted. Ne:1 H. reported seeing
one Theraphthis near the South-agar trees, + I found
one dead + fairly tanned Cerrodonotus.
The South-agar close the spring on the E slope
were totally burned if not killed. A small trackings near the
spring on the W side was partly burned. Beech's shrubs
were burned and large ones that mostly they are still
starting a very will justfully strong shoot. A few
green shoots & poles & grasses were seen occasionally.
Most prominent were green shoots of some ferns and
green lining the upper edge of the road on the E slope.
