LIDICKER 1979 March 24 Got off 0700, packed & cleaned cabin. Left 0930 for Honolulu via Wainaea. Returned after O Hawaii to Boston Lee on way out. Arrived Honolulu ~ 10:55. Left trip & other gear with Caroline Tomich & said goodbye to her. Left then 11:06 & landed for Hilo. Arrived at flight circuit at 12:04. Delayed cistery, agent was waiting for us with the dry ice. This time it has been carefully packaged in two styrofoam containers. We needed only ½ Q to pack our specimens. As we were out of dry ice at the cabin, we had need ice blocks to pack our specimens for transport to Hilo. Had lunch at Hayt's on Bergen Drive. Drove briefly S to Onetakatoka Beach, & then checked in at circuit. Got gas for our rent-a-car, returned it, & just made our flight out at 15:20. Non-stop to San Francisco, arriving about 2145. Drove home via the Univ. to leave ON our frozen specimens. Arrived home ~ 2320. Saw mongoose tracks on Highway 20 mi. N of Hilo & a second one near Bergen Drive in Hilo.
