LUDICKER 1978 Aug 7 cont. continued, in addition to clot a meeting, picked up trout trip from old skilled coffee beans. After returned to San Antonio, I met S man. of along a weedy bank of the river (with bottles etc.) 2000-2130 we had dinner at the Ristorante Bernina in Poschiavo, discovered that the owners lived many years in Dorval, Can.: and still have 4 children in that area. Summary of totals: San Antonio 5 Zolanda 10 9 Compascio 7 Compacologno . 15 Brusio 17 38 + 29 = 67 Weather: partly clear, but fairly strong wind blowing a quite chilly. Aug 8 - Breakfast at 0730. Picked up 5 trout along river. Had 1 #troutman which definitely seems to be of a different strain than the others we have been catching. It is smaller, has much smaller liver fat, etc. (WCL # 3612). Went to bottom of valley at Compacologno and worked on my back. At the 15 trap: at the field, caught nothing (as always). But Zolanda we had 1 #troutman - the real (WCL # 36'13); then traps picked up a smelt or all other snipe traps. In the day traps, we had 3 live minnows. The 10 traps then were supplemented with 4 more to make a total of 14. At Compascio we picked up the 7 live traps then in very can't nothing. Finally at Brusio, we caught 3
