Went out to Lou dinner at Altavilla Hotel: Paschiaro.
Saw Red-tailed Shrike at [illegible] Brusia.
July 6
600 up 0730. Pouring rain until about 1215. Choked
5 trips in vicinity of hotel after breakfast - no zebra. The
the "grandfather" drove us up the mountain to Caron to
pick up our traps there. We took along an 85 yrs. old man
who lived i Canche can 40 yrs. & spoke some English.
Traps produced nothing. From his description we think that
the species "tojii" there may be some kind of dawnover.
It was pouring while we were in Caron & the rain
ceased slowly until we were 3/4 of the way back
down the mountain. Needless to say it was also
quite cold. The "grandfather" took us to a grainery
just behind the hotel & across the river. The man
then let us out traps inside and a wood pile with 20
quite a few more things around it. We sat 5 live &
4 trap traps. Then we went to Brusia, caught 1 M. joshuarivinus
(will # 3604) in a mus. sp. & large barn. Nothing was
caught - the centre across the street or i th 2 traps set
by a neighbor. These last 2 were nearly out on top of a
car so I moved them - rather close to his driveway. By
then traps were left. At Zelande we caught nothing.
One live trap & 1 snap from the brown pile was moved
to the key loft when second traps had been sprung. At
