Lidicker 1978 4 traps set along trail of the wood pile. Other traps just a few feet away in the work area were untouched. Left on all * traps except these 4. Then we went down the valley to Brosio: 1 Mars (WZL #3602) f - snap trap; at 10 traps picked up. Zelande: 1 Abdomens, f - snap trap = treatment (WZL 3603) + 1 M.sp. = live trap = kitchen. Picked up Mrs. Sp. Leaving only 4 Sk. remaining = kitchen. At Campocologno: catch nothing. Reset traps all following - 5 sk + barn 3 live traps under some fields of black plastic sheets (some across road) barns seen), + 5 live traps = Cantina of the house. The 5 traps left at Angelici Costantini produced nothing; they were retrieved. Then we returned to hotel where we caught our 2nd live Mars & discarded the others. 2 Sk, and the Mars & the Abdomens from Zelande. Tissues, skulls + skeletons were saved from all 5. About 1515 started out again. I from very close to barn in Zelande where we truffled (belonging to Sr. Ferrari) we set traps at ~1600: after they left - 3 sks; empty skulls later - 3 live traps; manure pile untouched - 2 live + 1 snap. We asked at a few more homes, but couldn't find any additional places to trap in Zelande. To went on to Campocologno. Then we set at 2 additional live traps near the plastic sheets set earlier this AM. Also submitted other 3 traps with fancy bait (cats + a chocolate flavored spread = Nutella). Set 10 Mrs. Sp around + near the garden at this same site.
