June 29 cont.
Veseli n.l. to Lesnické Myslivecká + Rybarské
Múzeum (+ Břidlinka) = Zámek Hradec (with
stocks next to me). Lannice + Lišov to Hluboké
Castle - Hluboké on the Vltava R. + back to Hotel
Zvíkov.
June 30 Left hotel early for Prague via Čimelice
+ Dobříš. Dr. & Mrs. Sokolov left the tour that Am
by car so as to catch a plane ~ 1200 from Praha to
Moscow. After checking into the Alcron Hotel
+ having lunch at the park (The Chalice) which is famous
as the setting for the start of the Prot. Schweike novel,
we toured Pracha Castle + were returning to the hotel
in mid afternoon. The rest of the Russians then went
to the airport to go to Moscow. This left out 11 on
our tour plus our guide “Tom”; Went to outdoor concert
in evening with Tony + Jane Lee, Pat Woolley, & William
Lopez-Forment, Don + Helen Hoffmeister & Jiro Kikkawa,
(following members of group were Dr. & Mrs. Nishiwaki.)
July 1 Continued tour visiting Konopiště Castle
near Benešov, Slapy Lake Dam & via Zboršlav
to Karlštejn Castle + kindly bridge to Lidice,
before returning to Hotel Alcron in Praha. In evening
went to theater with Lee’s, Woolley, Lopez-Forment &
Kikkawa & with guide Tom. Saw Mary Taylor & Bill Camp
& Kathy Kemper at Hotel.
July 2 Tour officially ended after breakfast. Welldy
and Prague with Lees until ~ 1400. Nishiwaki &
Kikkawa left early in pm; Hoffmeister left last evening
