LIDICKER 1978 Alaska Trip 19-24 May May 19 - Left S.F. early on United flight 0930 for Seattle; or ~1115. After waiting until 1345 for Alaska Air flight to Fairbanks, it was cancelled due to foggy - had scramble for space on other flights. Struggled into Alaska flight at 1400 failed, but then it took minutes I got on a Western flight to Anchorage leaving 1430 (actually left 1500). In Anchorage, managed to find space on a Western flight to Fairbanks leaving 1815 (1615 PT). Tried to call Jerry at Inst. N. Farming from Anchorage but failed to get him. Arrived Fairbanks 1930, to Jerry Wolff we then to meet me. We stopped by Inst. when I called Bonnie: Bonnie regarding her thesis. Then we went to Bob & Judy Weeden's house to visit with Charlie Krebs who was in town briefly to give a seminar (I missed it at 1530). Also talked to Dave Klein & Gary & Peggy Surrency. Judy Weeden is former classmate ? Krebs at UCSB, a dean type thing. And ? Beck for many years at U of Alaska. Stayed at Jerry's apartment town. May 20 - Packed up for trip to Hess Creek, left ~1030. Partly cloudy. Spring is now advanced than 1 year ago, with birches & aspens almost fully leafed out. As we drove north, deadshot was more noticed around Hess Creek, hardwoods or just beginning to
