LIDICKER 1977 Aug 9 cont. Cetronomops - 2 (#3562 + 3563) Other trito groups caught nothing. This gave total of 18 animals caught per day or 33 for both days. Gave skinning demonstration for 2 hours to the class (will #3554). Then NIL & I processed 4 live animals for blood & tissues. After lunch, skinned 3 more animals (#3553, 3559, 3560); Naomi & the dogs did most of the cleanup work, I org scored it up & pinned it out. At 1515 left with John & Craig Holdren & Kelly (their "baby sister") in a car to go to Emerald Lake (~10,000ft) up road toward Schotfield Pass. John & the boys fished (John caught 1 nice rainbow trout). Went into Crested Butte (1900) for dinner (Sourdough) with Holdren's, Ehrlicks, & Bill Baker & wife (B's:11 is now chairman of Zoology at Univ. of Utah & former boss of Univ of Chicago). Got back ~2330. July 10 - After lunch, packed up & left the lab at 1415. Birds seen in Gothic & vicinity 3-10 July (actually Garrison to Garrison): * Ferruginous Hawk - 1 (old plum) Spinner Hoot - sev. Red-tailed Hummingbird - 3 #89 Killdeer Red-sh. F1:der - con. Upland Plover - 1 (near Garrison) Yel. Intl. Flycatcher - con. Common Snipe - 1 Alder Flycatcher - 2 dr.+ 2005 + 1 Spotted Sandpiper - con. 2007 Mourning Dove - (Garrison area only) W.Wood Pewee Broad-tailed Hummingbird - con. Olive-sided Flycatcher - 2+
