Had lunch with Steve MacLean at the "Blue Merlin".
Continued processing rice in afternoon. About 1600 went over

tomorrow to Lake Minchumina.
May 21 - Went to post. ~ 9am & I worked on
typing responses to various NSF grant proposals, reviewing
manuscripts, etc. At 11:30 went to McDonalds for lunch
& the Maurice took me to the airport. Got Alaska Central
Air Flight (once per week) to Lake Minchumina. Flight
took about 50 min. Times were rapidly slipping out & friends
that were I had met at LCM. Robe flew with "Blecky"
(Blackburn) who runs hunting lodge at Lake M., but he
has too drunk to get every details straight. Upon landing, we
met "Kenny" who asked us what we were up to, & when
we described the yellow-sand note to him he took me
~ 2-3 1952 picking truck that I w. to the NW when the road
ends at a US forest. riding etc. A constant - a circular
clearing of gravel areas. He said these large blockish rocks were
common - this area for the first time in 36 years he'd to
live them. As soon as we got out of truck & looked around
the smoking & the clearing we saw many thousands of Micrurus
xanthinodes ahead their characteristic cells. We
started setting traps as soon as we could that Kenny &
and I'm back to the airstrip.
