LODICKER 1977 South Carolina Birds count. (23-28 May) Wood Thrush Sterling Red-eyed Vireo White - eyed Vires -5+ Overbird Purple Warbler -20+ Pine Warbler - 10+ Horn Sparrow Total = 44 species, including 18 species too rare in Florida for total 788 species for the trip. Alaska Trip 19 May-27 May May 19 - Left Oakland airport ~1230 AM getting ride to airport from George Poinier (Ent. Dept.), who came give me some cultural nick for handbooks that live in the language field & microbiotic products. United Airlines to Portland & the Seattle. Left Seattle 1605 on Alaska Airline to Anchorage & then Fairbanks, Jerry & Maureen Wolf met me at the airport, & we went to their home in "Doggettel", actually the home of Celia Hunter & Jennie Wood. Talked a great deal early. May 20 - Went to Dept. of N. Forestry to answer roles that Jerry had caught on his last two trips to our study at Kito Creek. While waiting for them to leave I called Jim Estes in Anchorage to arrange meeting him on the 27th. Also talked to Jerry, Anderson.
