LIDICKER 1977 Apr. 25 cont. to be reception for Lou in the evening. Had dinner with Mike, Mike Ramon, & Ed Liu (biochemist at Univ. S.C. who is collaborating with Mike on studies of biochemical variation - Typha). At the reception (w/ Lou & Ed & Jeanine Liu - originally from Hawaii) met: John Dean (assoc. w/ Marine Lab at U.S. Carol.), Wally Dawson (genetics of Paramecium), Syd Crigs (DNA hybrid., is an undergrd, who earlier had given us brief tour of Univ. campus), & Mike Feldman (biochemist interested - ADH) & many others. Drove back to Aiken, arriving after midnight. April 26 Mike & I headed for Athens, Georgia, & a visit to see Frank Colley at the Institute of Ecology, of which SREC is a part. Had lunch with Frank & Mike. Then toured the Inst., had long talk with Dick Weigert, & then two men from Jarrow Delta, wildlife biologist Larry Marchinton & Jim Jenkins. Left for Univ. Debbie Booring working at S.F. St. Univ. (student of Bob Brown's interest - modeling microlens cycles) & low grad. student of Bernie C. Patterson - working in Okefenokee swamp. Had four hours with Mike & Weigert (John Avisse did not show up), then at 2:30, we headed back for Aiken. April 27 What to look when I worked on my review which I gave 11/08 - 12/10.
