L/DICKER 1977 April 23 cont. I started to get acquainted with many of the laboratory personnel at the following reception. Played disc-jockey - evening. April 24 Went to picnic with Smith family (dad Mike W., - 18 yrs., & Karen - 8 1/2 yrs.), Neils ____ & wife (geneticist from Univ. Stockholm) & Ramona Baccus (in charge of electrophoresis lab at SREL & MA student of Jim Ford - Denver Univ. - worked on Pennsylvania). Picnic was at new State Park which is an old plantation owned by Andrews father of Tim - life & before that farmed S. Carol. family including governor & senator; & now a historical park. It is located near Buck Island. Continued our discussions at Mike's house - the evening. April 25 Went into SREL with Mike & he just we started talking with his group - particularly Dave Foltz (student of Ph:1 myco & R. Alexander, U.Mich) who is working on P. polionatus . We then went back to Tom Graham (works on heavy metals & fish). Went to lunch w/ J.B. Gentry at Dupont cafeteria on Plant. Afterwards "J.B. drove me around to see some of his study area (he is currently working on lavender and honey) & the other sights on the plant - including the coal ash deposition areas - where studying Cd accumulation in some forest systems. At about 1600 Mike Smith (son) & R. Beckman started out to drive to Columbia, S.C. Mike had given me some phone numbers & there was
