LIDICKER 1976 Aug. 30 conts. Tilled to Stem West & stopped by to see George West of IAB Chiefs. 16/10-25 - Back to "T-field" to paint trucks. Had 1 man m. sec. in my line, leaving off 6 trucks in this old line. Set 10 man shiners; going out 15 giving now giving total of 40 trucks there. 1645: Rolling truck trips. Checked on each set 1 man to take 15 + 10 = 25. Nothing in trucks. After dinner we went to Okter, saw just 1 Goldstern & Ballaine woods (5 mi. N Fairbanks). Set traps in a young cranberry brake area with lots of Viburuna, grass, & grain weed. Was a small amount of microtus signs but it was difficult to find because of the tall grass or thick litter. I set 15 traps & going at for a total of 36. Trip setting 1930-2010. Saw 1 Snowshoe Hare while setting traps. Aug. 31 0815-30 picked up traps at Okter (5 mi. N Univ. of Alaska, Fairbanks, 550 ft.). Caught 2 M.o. + 1 C.r. (1 man in each group of 5 traps). Going caught 1 C.r. The red-backed vole was released. Beautiful sunny day; 49°F when we left cabin. 0900-0905 picked up traps along railroad tracks (Ext. Farm, Univ. of A.). Catch: w2L - 3 Microtus. John 1 M.o., muscle rixosa Took photo of Ext. Farm from hillside below IAB. Then we went to "T-field" (1 mi. NW Univ. of Alaska, south).
